SPANISH MOSS - WORKS ON PAPER

Living line, I am attracted to drawing and painting Spanish moss and other epiphytes for many years. It was forbidden fruit in adolescence, which I’m sure influences me. These drawings are from direct observation after push-pinning a clump above my drawing table, moving it into different shapes for each drawing. I’m inspired by a ghost-like subtle contrast of filtered light, the intricacy that creates its form. Thriving on air alone, it embodies the fragility of an interconnected ecosystem.
